The standard iPhone 14 is very similar to the iPhone 13 with some improvements in features and specs over the current models. Along with the 6.1-inch iPhone 14, you can expect a larger 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max with many of the same specs.

The iPhone 14 Pro models are expected to feature a larger redesign, finally eliminating the infamous display notch in favour of a punch-hole and pill-shaped dual display cut-out design. The iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will also have an improved main 48MP camera and a new A16 Bionic chip, as well as a possible always-on display.

Most recent iPhone 14 rumours’

It is produced in the same quantities as other iPhones; the iPhone 14 Max is the most difficult Apple phone to purchase this fall.

Apart from it, it has backtracked on its claim that the iPhone 14 mini might not be dead after all; it now appears that the smaller iPhone is doomed. The manufacturers have got a comprehensive list of all the expected iPhone 14 specifications for all four models. You can check out the roundup of when to expect iPhone 14 pre-orders and launch prices.

iPhone 14 release date

In terms of pricing, the iPhone 14 Pro models are expected to cost $100 more but will come with 256GB of storage as standard, rather than 128GB (this rumour has been contested by a more recent analyst report). As a result, the iPhone 14 Pro may cost $1,099, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max may cost $1,199.

The rumour appears to be supported, by an analyst, who predicts a $100 price increase for the iPhone 14 Pro models. When a new iPhone is released, it usually means the end of the line for older iPhones, with the iPhone 13 mini appearing to be the most likely phone to be dropped from Apple’s smartphone lineup. As a result, we investigated which iPhones might be phased out when the iPhone 14 is released.

The flat edge design of the iPhone 14 Pro will be retained, but the display notch will be removed to make way for a pair of cutouts, one circular for the front-facing camera and the other a pill shape for Face ID sensors. This speculation was bolstered by what appears to be a leaked supply chain photo of the display panels for all four iPhone 14 models.

Aside from that, no Touch ID support is expected for any iPhone 14 models. That won’t be as bad as we thought, because, with iOS 15.4, Apple has made Face ID capable of recognising a legitimate user even when they’re wearing a mask.

While the Pro modes appear to have the most interesting design, the standard iPhone 14 will be joined by the iPhone 14 Max. This model is expected to have a larger 6.7-inch display, providing users with a larger-screen iPhone without requiring them to pay a premium for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

iPhone 14 colours

According to a reliable source, there will be Midnight, Starlight, and Product RED colour options as usual, with the current blue being replaced by a lighter sky blue and a new purple option arriving. However, that leak has since been removed, making it difficult to assess its reliability.

An iPhone 14 tipster recently revealed all of the possible colours for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. The iPhone 14 will reportedly be available in Green, Purple, Blue, Black, White, and Red. While the iPhone 14 Pro will be available in Purple, Green, Silver, and Graphite.

iPhone 14 style

According to a report, the iPhone 14 will have a 6.08-inch display (rounded up to 6.1 inches) and the iPhone 14 Max will have a 6.68-inch display (rounded up to 6.7 inches). It is identical to the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The Pro models, on the other hand, may grow slightly larger (to 6.12 inches and 6.69 inches, respectively) due to new bezels.

Remember that the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max have 120Hz refresh rate displays, it would be great to see such a screen on all iPhone 14 models, most likely using an LTPO panel or an evolution of that display technology that could scale down to as little as 1Hz.

iPhone 14 Outlook

Both the standard and Pro models will be an evolution of what has come before, with the iPhone 14 Pro likely to receive all of the standout upgrades; see our early comparison of the iPhone 14 Pro Max vs. iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, iPhones are built to last, and the standard iPhone 14 models should not be overlooked, as they are still likely to provide a stellar iOS experience.

For what it’s worth, we recommend delaying your purchase of an iPhone 13 until September to see what Apple may reveal. Apple is very likely to release another iPhone line that will compete for the top spot on our best phones list.
